Join fellow employees and SRC members in Jags On Track, a campus-wide wellness campaign built to help you move more, connect with colleagues,
and add a spark of fun competition to your routine. Along the way, you’ll collect
points that put you in the running for some outstanding prizes!
Here’s how you can earn points:

Check-In Challenge – Swipe into the SRC and earn 1 point per visit (Aug 1 – Dec 5).

Team Challenges – Step it up with your coworkers in team fitness challenges for bonus points.

Individual Challenges – Push yourself in individual challenges and climb the leaderboard.

An Introduction to Our Wellness in Community Campaign
Join fellow employees in a campus-wide movement challenge as we kick off our Wellness in Community campaign—designed to support long-term wellness habits, create meaningful connections between employees across academic and health campuses, and add a spark of friendly competition!
🏃 How It Works:

Challenge Dates: August 1st to 31st

Tracking Miles: Participants can log walking or running miles only.

Daily Limit: A maximum of 20 miles per day will count toward the challenge.

Logging Options:
-
Sync your miles through a wearable fitness tracker (e.g., Fitbit, Apple Watch, Garmin, etc.)

Or manually enter miles directly into the tracking platform

Back Logging: You can upload past miles for up to 3 days after the date of activity

Day-by-Day Scoring: Miles will be recorded and counted by the day they were completed, not by upload date.

Take steps toward better health all semester long! Our Continuous Step Challenge is designed to keep you moving—whether it’s a walk across campus, a stroll on the Jag Fitness Trail, laps around the indoor track, or simply getting your steps in throughout the day. This easy, ongoing challenge makes it simple to stay active, boost your wellness, and add more movement into your routine. Every step counts—indoors, outdoors, and everywhere in between—so lace up, start walking, and track your progress toward a healthier you!
How It Works
- Sign Up & Connect Your Device
- Create an account on your activity tracker’s website (Fitbit, Apple, Garmin, etc.).
- Log in to ChallengeRunner.com.
- Go to Profile > Authorize and sign in with your tracker account. This gives Challenge Runner permission to pull your step data.
Sync Your Steps
- Make sure your device syncs to its app or website at least once a day so your steps show up.
- If you miss a day, no problem—you have up to 5 days to sync past steps.
- No Tracker? No Problem!
- You can manually enter steps on the Challenge Runner website or app.
Challenge Details
Duration: September 10th to Friday, November 21st
Leaderboard: See how you rank against others in real time (names are visible).
Prizes:
1st Place - JagFit Custom Rain Jacket, Gym Bag, and Water Bottle
2nd Place - JagFit Gym Bag & Water Bottle
3rd Place - JagFit Water Bottle
Participation Award – Walk 180,000 steps total (that’s about 4,000/day)

50 and 100 Mile Club
September 1st, 2025 to May 1st, 2026
Think you’ve got what it takes to swim 50 or even 100 miles? Join the 50 & 100 Mile Swim Club and challenge yourself to go the distance—one lap at a time. Whether you're a casual swimmer or a pool powerhouse, every stroke counts toward your goal. Track your progress, earn brag-worthy rewards, and see your name added to our Wall of Fame. Dive in, stay motivated, and make waves all semester long!
Rules:
- Sign up online for either the 50 Mile Club or 100 Mile Club.
- You can only count laps that you swim at the Student Recreation Center.
- Keep track of your daily laps and enter them into Challenge Runner. The indoor pool is a 25 yard pool. You must swim up and back to complete 1 lap.
- Please remember this challenge is based on the honor system and was created to encourage everyone involved to swim for better health!
- Everyone who completes 50 Miles or 100 Miles by the end of the challenge will win a coveted Swim Club T-Shirt and bragging rights!
Mini-Challenges (Must be enrolled in the 50 or 100 Mile Club)
September - Find a Friend Challenge - Encourage someone to enroll in the 50 or 100 mile club! Email your buddy's name to jagfitwell@southalabama.edu once they've registered to receive a prize!
October - Wear It Pink Challenge - Join us in supporting Breast Cancer Awareness! On Friday, October 24th, the indoor pool will be transformed in pink, and everyone who swims 1 mile that day will earn a special JagFit prize!
November - Fill The Sleigh Challenge - Help us "Fill the Sleigh" by Thanksgiving Day by donating a $25 toy for Holiday Havoc, our yearly philanthropy event!
December - Lap Buddies Challenges - Swim with one or more friends during the month of December, snap a selfie, and send it to us at jagfitwell@southalabama.edu for a prize! All pictures will be printed and shared on the Indoor Pool board!
