The USA National Alumni Association is proud to support student access and success through our alumni scholarships:

  • Children of Alumni Scholarship
  • Freshman Leadership Scholarship
  • Graduate Scholarship
  • Port City Chapter Scholarship
  • Baldwin County Chapter Scholarship
  • Book Scholarships

Scholarships are funded through the sale of Jag Tags, the University’s collegiate license plate, which can also be personalized to show your Jaguar spirit. One hundred percent of net proceeds from the sale of the tags benefit student scholarships and are matched through the Mitchell-Moulton Scholarship Initiative.

Jag Tags have raised more than $1 million for students to follow their dreams. If you are an Alabama resident, purchase your Jag Tag the next time you renew your license tag.

USA students whose parents or guardians are current members of the National Alumni Association may apply for alumni scholarships. Apply online using Jag$POT, USA's scholarship program opportunity tracker. Click here to view all scholarships offered by the University.

Alumni Scholarships FAQ

The South Alabama National Alumni Association’s scholarships are available to USA students whose parents or guardians are current dues paying members of the Alumni Association. To verify your membership status, please call the Office of Alumni Relations (251) 460-7084

All students at the University of South Alabama must use the online Jag$POT scholarship portal. On the general scholarship application, your student must check the box titled “Are you a child or dependent of a USA graduate or National Alumni Association Member” and provide the parents name and graduation year (if applicable). By completing these two steps, your child becomes eligible to fill out the Alumni Association scholarship applications.

*Please note that if your student does not complete the above step, or does not complete the application in its entirety, then they will not be considered for review.

The South Alabama National Alumni Association scholarships are open from September 1st – March 1st every year.
Scholarships are awarded by the South Alabama National Alumni Association after the applications have closed, and before the end of the Spring semester. Students will be notified if they received a scholarship through their Jag$POT portal or the Office of Scholarship Services.
