The University of South Alabama College of Nursing community mourns the passing of alumna, Mrs. Natalie Rene' Broadus Anusiewicz (BSN' 86), who passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, after a six-year battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

The College of Nursing is proud to celebrate Chelsea Cooper, one of our dedicated nursing majors, as the 2025 University of South Alabama Homecoming Queen. Beyond the court, Chelsea maintains an impressive presence as a campus leader while diligently pursuing her degree.

Dr. Bradley Goettl '14 has been named chief nursing officer of the American Nurses Enterprise, where he will help to advance professional practice standards for more than 5 million nurses. For a nurse who began his career serving patients in small, rural areas, it has been quite a journey.

After 30 years working as a licensed practical nurse, Lisa Daniels is earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing through the LPN to BSN Pathway at the University of South Alabama.

Born and raised in Mobile, Katie Ann Hites always had her heart set on attending the University of South Alabama to study nursing and be close to her family.

In recognition of her outstanding achievements and exemplary service, Dr. Kimberly Williams, professor of community mental health nursing, was recently accepted into the prestigious Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners program.
